Cwmwx Builds Arizona Plant

Mexican building materials giant Cemex plans to build a $400 million cement plant near Seligman. The company will build the plant on 7,500 acres 15 miles northwest of Seligman. Based in Monterrey, Mexico, Cemex is the largest cement and ready-mix company in the United States and the third-largest in the world. The new plant would create 700 construction jobs. About 90 percent of the plant's output would be sold to ready-mix concrete plants in Arizona, which have been experiencing concrete shortages because of the state's construction boon.
