A benefit for Colores Actors-Writers Workshop's 2006-2007 will showcase A Mother's Will, written by Julie Amparano and directed by Pamela Sterling.

In the play, a family matriarch struggles to find a way to hold her family together beyond her own impending death. It's a tough assignment, as one daughter, a physician, would prefer to leave her family behind while an ambitious sister sets her sights on being an entertainer.

Two presentations are scheduled at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 17 and 18; a 2 p.m. matinee also is slated for Nov. 18. Admission: $12, students and seniors, $10. Nov. 18 admission for the evening performance is $50 per person, $85 per couple (includes a reception afterward).

All performances will be shown at Theatre Artists Studio, 4848 E. Cactus Road, Suite 406, Scottsdale.
