CPR classes at Children’s Hospital

Knowing how to perform CPR can mean the difference between life and death for a loved one this summer. With proper training like that provided by the Children’s Hospital, care givers can help avoid a tragedy this swimming and pool season. Drowning is the leading cause of unintentional death in children ages 1-4, with Arizona ranking second in the nation, behind Florida.  Fourteen children drowned last year in Maricopa County alone, and 10 more suffered permanent neurological injury. The classes at the Children’s Hospital run July 11, 18, 28; and Aug. 11, 20, 25. The classes are held from 8 a.m. – noon at the hospital’s Building C, 1919 E. Thomas Road in Phoenix.
