Association is path to hotel ownership for Latinos

The Hispanic Hotel Owners Association held its conference in Phoenix on May 28-29 at the Phoenix Hilton. Seminar topics in its Hotel Investment Series included investment strategies, industry outlook, site selection and operations management.  Angela Gonzalez-Rowe, the founder and president of HHOA, says the nonprofit was founded in 2006 as the primary advocate for Latino business associates interested in becoming hotel owners. “Hotel ownership is a niche that the Hispanic community has traditionally been unable to penetrate in significant numbers,” she says. “Lack of educational resources, a sound business network, capital and operational expertise have kept many entrepreneurs from pursuing hotel ownership. The Hotel Investment Series was created to fill that void.” For more, www.hhoa.org
