Molina buys company

Phoenix jeweler Alfredo J. Molina has purchased Black, Starr & Frost, a California jewelry company

Phoenix jeweler Alfredo J. Molina has purchased Black, Starr & Frost, a California jewelry company whose clients once included royalty, celebrities and some of the nation's wealthiest families.

The CEO of Molina Fine Jewelers said he is determined to return the 196-year-old company to its glamorous status.

"It's the oldest American premier jewelry store in the nation, and at its peak, it touted a client roster of celebrities, royalty and famous families, including the Vanderbilts, Guggenheims and Carnegies," says Molina.

The original Black, Starr & Frost opened in New York in 1810. It currently is located in Costa Mesa, Calif., and there are plans to open stores in Phoenix and New York. For more, www.finejeweler.com.
