Warm up the night with a hot Cuban food cooking class at Sur la Table, 7122 E. Greenway Parkway, Scottsdale, 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 26.

Part of its Date Night series, this hands-on workshop will guide you through the exotic dishes that fuse Spanish, African and Caribbean flavors. The menu features stuffed avocados, fried plantain chips, black beans and rice with mango and Bacardi rum cake.
