ASU, UA join alliance
The two universities are among nine Southwest universities forming Southwest Border Security Consortium
The University of Arizona and Arizona State University are among nine Southwest universities forming the Southwest Border Security Consortium, an alliance that will develop and promote scientific and policy solutions to issues affecting the U.S.-Mexico border region.
Capabilities of the SBSC institutions span a broad range of areas relevant to border and homeland security issues, including: agricultural and supply-chain security, behavioral and social aspects of terrorism and counterterrorism, detection and surveillance, educational outreach, legal infrastructures, regional and cultural issues and more.
New Mexico State University, New Mexico Tech, the University of New Mexico, San Diego State University, Texas A&M Engineering, University of Texas at El Paso and UT at San Antonio are also part of the consortium.
