First Latina president

Amparo Gonzalez has become the first Latina president of the American Association of Diabetes Educators. She is currently the director of the Latino Diabetes Initiative at Emory University School of Medicine, where she has designed and implemented a diabetes program in Spanish. The Colombia native also serves as an adjunct professor at the Emory University School of Nursing. For more, www.diabeteseducator.org.
