$1.2 billion resort project to begin in Rocky Point, Sonora

Two major Mexican resort developers have announced a $1.2 billion project at the Sandy Beach Resorts community at Rocky Point, Sonora. Grupo SBR will team with Group Questro, a Los Cabos developer, for the 630-acre project. The project will feature two 300-room beachfront hotels, 900 beachfront condos, an 18-hole golf course and resort with 1,000 homes and 1,000 more condos. In addition, a convention and expo center will be built by the state of Sonora. Groupo SBR is based in Rocky Point; Grupo Questro is led by Eduardo Sanchez-Navarro, the heir to the Corona beer family.
