CPLC named 3 new board members

CPLC named Carmen Cornejo, George Diaz and Tony Moya to its 20-member board of directors.

Chicanos Por La Causa in November named Carmen Cornejo, George Diaz and Tony Moya to its 20-member board of directors. “The CPLC board of directors provides oversight to ensure that the organization stays grounded. They also play the important role of being our eyes and ears out in the community, providing a real grassroots connection,” says CPLC President and CEO Edmundo Hidalgo. “We are thrilled to have Carmen, George and Tony join our Board, and we look forward to their perspectives and contributions.” Cornejo’s past duties have included newspaper editor, language instructor and professor. She serves as managing director of CADENA, a grassroots organization dedicated to advocating for the U.S. Congress to pass the DREAM Act, legislation that would ensure all young people can attain a college education regardless of their immigration status. Diaz is a Senior Public Affairs Lobbyist for Pinnacle West Capital Corporation who has 13 years of experience in the legislative, governmental and public affairs industries representing high-profile clients. He has served under the Arizona State Supreme Court, Arizona Attorney General’s Office and the Arizona State House of Representatives. Moya is Manager of Latino Relations at Salt River Project (SRP), carrying out the company’s community involvement activities with a focus on the Hispanic community.
