Veterans Honored

For the fifth year, the Arizona Department of Corrections honored staff members who served in the armed forces.

 

More than 100 veterans, family, co-workers and friends gathered at the armory on Flag Day, June 19, for the ceremony. The families of ADC employees on active duty were also honored at the event.

 

More than a quarter of the department or 2,337 men and women, are veterans.

Among the speakers addressing the veterans was Arizona State Rep. Ben Miranda and Major General David Rataczak of the Arizona Army National Guard.

 

Some 95 ADC employees are currently on active duty, with 75 on stand-by.
