Phoenix leader joins NCLR board; VDS honored

The National Council of La Raza (NCLR) has elected Linda Mazón-Gutiérrez, president, Hispanic Women’s Corporation in Phoenix, to its board of directors. Other additions include Andrea Bazán of the Triangle Community Foundation as chair of the board. NCLR also named there other new members to its board: César Álvarez, chief executive officer, Greenberg Traurig; Dr. Clara Rodríguez, professor at Fordham University; and Cid Wilson, director of equity research, Kevin Dann & Partners. In addition, Valle del Sol was one of three recipients of NCLR’s Anne Casey Foundation Family Strengthening Awards at the NCLR conference in San Diego. “These affiliates and their programs were clear examples of the work that community-based organizations can do to reach out to, educate, and empower hundreds of Hispanic American families,” said Janet Murguía, NCLR CEO/president.
