Chamber awards scholarships
The Tucson Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with the Tucson Center for Cultural Enrichment awarded six scholarships with a combined value of more than $14,000 to six Pima County high-school seniors, who all plan to attend either Pima Community College or the University of Arizona in the fall. Scholarships were awarded for those planning to study in the high-tech or medical fields, as well as business, teaching or the arts fields. Students who received $3,000 scholarships each were: Jose Estrada, planning to study computer engineering, and Heather Henderson, planning to study nursing. Four $2,008 scholarships were awarded to Amelia Gabusi (psychology), Cynthia Lee (pharmacy), Jesusita Solis (business) and Jacqueline Stubbs (media arts). This is the sixth year that the Tucson Center for Cultural Enrichment and the Chamber have partnered in the Education Scholarship Program.
